The Hayfield softball team kept its season alive by beating No. 4-seeded Kenyon-Wanamingo 7-2 on the road in the first round of the Subsection 1A West Division tournament Tuesday.

Fifth-seeded Hayfield (5-16 overall) scored three runs in the top of the first to take over early and the Knights (7-12 overall) couldn’t find a response.

Hayfield committed zero errors in the win.

The Vikings will play at No. 1 Blooming Prairie in an elimination game Thursday at 5 p.m.
