Two juveniles were charged over the weekend for deflating the tires of 17 vehicles in Racine last month.
Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi said the 14- and 15-year-old boys used a tool to remove the tire valve caps and stems, damaging one tire.
The incident was called in to the sheriff’s office in April by the owner of one of the 17 vehicles.
Authorities later investigated and determined that the preyed cars had been parked on three different roads in the southeast part of town — Minnesota, Main and Harrison.
The charges came after a citizen called in a tip, Amazi said.
In each case, the valve stems and caps were left by the tires, a sheriff’s department report indicates.
