An Austin man was sentenced to one year in state prison Friday after authorities conducted a drug raid at his house in March.
John Robert Frost, 46, was charged with felony drug possession and illegal firearm possession following the search. He pleaded guilty to the two counts in April.
According to a criminal complaint, authorities found 1.2 grams of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun in Frost’s room. A previously convicted felon, Frost is barred from owning a gun by state law.
In another room in the house, belonging to 25-year-old Jesse Dean Kranz, authorities found another 22 grams of meth, a scale and $614 cash.
Frost, who admitted to possessing the meth found in his bedroom, as well as to owning the gun, said Kranz was the one “doing business,” noting the larger amount of meth found in his room.
On Friday, Kranz pleaded guilty to a single count of felony drug possession. He awaits sentencing on Aug. 27.
