Barbara Harding

Barbara (King) Harding, age 90 of Harrison, Ark. died at her home Thursday, June 17, 2010.
Barbara was born July 19, 1919 in Pleasant Valley, Minn. to Robert and Martha (Morris) King.
She graduated from Stewartville High School in Minnesota in 1937 and attended business school in Mason City, Iowa.
Barbara was employed as advertising manager for Sears in Austin, Minn. for over 10 years. She had been an Arkansas resident since 1984. She was the manager of Bellefonte United Methodist Church, former president of Bellefonte United Methodist Women’s Group, member of Extension Homemakers Club nnd Patchworkers Quilt Guild.
Many knew her as the “Ouchie Baby” lady. She sewed over 10,000 little dolls for the Boone County Health Department to be given out to children getting their shots. She was also a quilter and an artist.
Survivors are three daughters: Linda (Milford) Nelson, Austin, Minn., Carol Johnson and Roberta Hansen, White Bear Lake, Minn.; one son: David (Nora) Hansen, Lake City, Fla; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-greatgrandchild; sisters-in-law: Mary Wilma Harding, Va., Ruth Thomason, and Marie (Elmer) Griever all of Harrison, Ark.; and former husband: Robert Hansen, Austin, Minn.
Her parents preceded her in death along with her husbands, Theodore Myhre in 1986 and Troy Harding in 2009; her sister, Hazel Tjepkes McCall; a daughter, Patricia Hansen Schocker; one granddaughter; and one greatgrandson.
Cremation and arrangements are being handled by Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Donald officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison, Ark. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service.
