Belva Haugen

Belva J. Haugen, 76, of Austin, died at Austin Medical Center Monday evening, May 31, 2010. 
She was born Dec. 7, 1933 to Kenneth and Palma (Austinson) Lastine in Austin where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1952. She married Roger Haugen on July 10, 1955, in Albert Lea and they moved to Bloomington in 1961. Belva worked in the clerical departments at Control Data and Honeywell. Roger passed away in 1982. In 1993 Belva returned to Austin. She enjoyed volunteering at Twin Towers, watching old movies and playing cards with friends.
Survivors include two sons, Dale Haugen of Hopkins and James (Joan) Haugen of Southborough, Mass.; three grandchildren, Sophie, Thomas and Nicholas; one brother, James (Diane) Lastine of Austin; one sister, Charlene (James) Hastings of Marshalltown, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A celebration of life will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., Saturday, June 5, 2010, in the community room at the Twin Towers, Austin. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, June 7, 2010, at Dawn Valley Memorial Park, 9940 East Bush Lake Road, in Bloomington. 
Memorials are preferred to donor’s choice.
