A 67-year-old man driving in northeast Austin Tuesday was shot at by a teenager with a BB gun, according to a police report.
The incident occurred at around 11 a.m. in the 100 block of 12th Street Northeast. The man and his wife were driving south on 12th Street when a side door was struck by a pellet, which left a dent and chipped some paint.
The woman told police that she had seen someone sitting in a front doorway holding an unidentified object right before the shooting. Authorities later went to that property, where several residents identified the shooter as a 13-year-old male who wasn’t home.
A .177-caliber air rifle was also recovered from the house, the report states.
The young male will face charges as a juvenile in Mower County court.
There were no reported injuries during the incident.
