Elizabeth Mae Dudley, 74, of Austin, a native of Rockbridge County of Lexington, Va. went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 20.
She resided at The Good Samaritan Rest Home of Austin since March due to a long term illness.
She was born Dec. 17, 1935, in the Collierstown area of Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Annie Potter Patterson and the wife of the late Buford Dudley.
Elizabeth was a quiet, gentle spirited lady who loved life, family, and friends and loved the Lord. She loved doing things for others and was very generous of giving of herself, her time and wanting to meet the needs of others. Her life was a heritage of godliness that reflected a life of loving devotion to her Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Hoff, and son-in-law, Danny, of Austin; two granddaughters, Tonia (Josh) DeClue of Austin, Tiffany Loverink of Austin; three great-granddaughters, Whitney, Jada and Danni of Austin; three sisters-in-law, Roena (Jim) Fowler of Buchanan, Va., Polly Dudley of Rock Ridge County, Va. and Martha Patterson of Buena Vista, Va.; one brother-in-law, Howard Dudley of Botetourt County, Va.; and nieces and nephews of Virginia and friends whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at the Crane Community Chapel with the Rev. Dale R. Christiansen officiating. Friends may call at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church for one hour before the service on Thursday.
Interment will be in the Rappsmill Cemetery, Buchanan, Va. on Thursday, July 1. There will be a visitation at the Botetourt Funeral Home from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 1.
