The Austin Gifted and Talented Symposium kicks off Sunday with a keynote speaker presenting a workshop titled “Free Range Kids” at 7 p.m. at the Austin High School Knowlton Auditorium.
The workshop is free and open to the public, featuring Lenore Skenazy, syndicated columnist and founder of “Free Range Kids,” a book, blog, and movement.
“Free-Range Kids” is an approach to parenting and teaching. It is designed to help parents and teachers understand the importance of letting kids explore, work things out on their own and fail sometimes.
