Ilene Enright

Ilene Florence Enright, 92, longtime Austin resident, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2010.
She was born Jan. 6, 1918 in North Dakota to parents, Isabelle and Charles Johnson. The family moved to Rose Creek when she was an infant. Ilene attended elementary school in Rose Creek and graduated from Austin High School.
    She was engaged to be married in December 1940 to Robert Enright and was married in December 1944 after Mr. Enright returned from 38 months of overseas duty in the Army Air Force.
    Mrs. Enright was active in local charitable, church, civic and recreational activities. She was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church, the Rosary Society and St. Olaf Hospital Womens Auxiliary. She was an enthusiastic maker of hundreds of baby quilts distributed by the Pope’s Warehouse. She was a member of the Austin Duplicate Bridge Club and several social bridge groups.
    Mrs. Enright was also a supporter of her husband’s local public service. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
    Mrs. Enright is survived by her husband, Robert; their five children and their spouses, Michael (Paulette) Enright of Saginaw, Mich., Cynthia (Roger) Swanson of New Brighton, John (Sandy) Enright of Springfield, Va., James Enright of St. Paul, Joseph (Mary) Enright of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
    Mrs. Enright is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Nora Rasmussen and Mable Miller, both of Austin.
   A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father John Traufler officiating. There will be a 4 p.m. CCW rosary and a 6 p.m. wake service on Friday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. and also one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.  Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
    The casket bearers will be grandsons, John Swanson, Patrick, Roan, Robert, and Devin Enright, and great-grandson, Austin Ramirez.
