The Mower County Sheriff’s Office is looking into several incidents of paintball vandalism reported over the weekend in northwest Austin.
Three cases were reported to authorities on Sunday and each likely occurred sometime Saturday evening. None of the incidents involved any lasting physical damage to property.
One reportee, a man living in the 2800 block of 12th Avenue Northwest, told authorities he heard a noise sometime Saturday night. When he went outside the next morning, he noticed paintball skins littering his lawn, and paint spots on his garage door and house.
Two others — a man living in the 1600 block of 27th Street Northwest and a woman living in the 2600 block of 20th Avenue Northwest — did not report hearing anything strange the night before, but both found paint marks on their properties Sunday morning.
In the man’s case, there were 18 paintball skins recovered, according to a sheriff’s office report.
Authorities do not have any suspects at this point and have not concluded whether the cases are related.
