ROSEMOUNT — A Burnsville man is in custody for a fatal shooting at a Rosemount car wash.
Police say the 27-year-old man surrendered to Burnsville police Wednesday. He’s being held in the Dakota County Jail in the death of 22-year-old Anthony Hartman of Apple Valley.
Police and family members say Hartman was trying to intervene in a dispute between a friend and the gunman when he was killed at Car Spa Monday night.
Police Chief Gary Kalstabakken (KAL’-stah-BAHK’-en) tells the Pioneer Press it’s not clear what started the argument between the victim’s friend and the gunman.
Kalstabakken says the suspect was parked in a car wash bay and shot Hartman several times with a handgun near the vending machine area. Hartman died at the scene.
