An area band is calling it quits this summer — but not before staging one final concert.
Four member post-rock outfit The Right To Arm Bears performs their final concert for free Friday at Todd Park.
Drummer Jacob Ewert, 19, said that the group has been playing together for a few years but has decided to go their separate ways.
“At our pinnacle, we were playing three to five shows a month in Minnesota,” he said. “We are just moving onto other things now.”
Ewert, along with two guitarists and a bass player of about the same age, perform original instrumental rock and will soon record their top songs to document their time in the band, Ewert said.
Ewert said he is the only one of the four who has immediate plans to continue playing music. He is moving to Cincinnati, Ohio, to join the band Spruce Leaves.
The show opens at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the Todd Park Pavilion, with opening acts to be determined. The Right To Arm Bears plans to take the stage between 7 and 8 p.m.
