MINNEAPOLIS — Hennepin County sheriff’s deputies are investigating an apparent drowning in Lake of Isles in Minneapolis after a body was recovered.

A news release from the department says the body of a 26-year-old Minneapolis man was recovered about 9:30 a.m. Friday. His name was not immediately released.

The victim had been swimming in the lake with three friends about 5 a.m. They were swimming toward and island when the man decided to turn back. When the friends returned to shore they couldn’t find him and called 911.

A dive team found the body about 60 feet from shore in 7 feet from water. Deputies are investigating.
