Police are looking for a minivan reportedly stolen from an elderly Austin woman on Wednesday.
According to a police report, the 79-year-old alleged victim called Austin police at around 5:20 p.m. to say that her 1998 Dodge Caravan was missing. The vehicle had been parked in a lot on Fourth Avenue and First Street northwest, the woman said, and was gone when she arrived after work. Keys were not left in the vehicle, the woman added.
There was no evidence found at the scene, such as broken glass, and police do not have a suspect.
With the stolen vehicle notice out, law enforcement agencies across the country will be able to look for the van, and anyone arrested can be held for Mower County authorities.
The van’s license plate is 551-ABH.
