Scott Sween

Mr. Sween of Rochester died Monday, July 5, 2010, in Monmouth,Ill., from injuries suffered in an accident.
Scott James Sween was born Dec. 18, 1962, in Rochester, Minn., to Sidney and Joyce (Dahle) Sween. He grew up in Stewartville, attended schools there and was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville. He later earned his G.E.D. He was employed at the Chanticleer Room Restaurant at the Rochester Airport and at the Hoffman House Restaurant in Rochester. He was employed at Pace Dairy in Rochester for a few years and was most recently working in construction. He was a past member of Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville. Scott enjoyed coin collecting, camping, following the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, playing video games and was an avid fisherman. He specially enjoyed time spent with family.
Survivors include his parents, Sidney and Joyce Sween of Rochester; two brothers, Steven Sween of Rochester and Todd (Melissa) Sween of Bend, Ore.; a niece, Deirdre Sween of Rochester; and a nephew, Seth Sween of Bend, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Anna Dahle, and his paternal grandparents, Theodore and Eliza Sween.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville, Minn., with Rev. Byron Meline and Rev. Emily Carson officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2010, at Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday morning.
