MINNEAPOLIS — Stearns County sheriff’s officials say a number of items were seized in the two-day search of property near the site of Jacob Wetterling’s abduction.
The sheriff’s office did not elaborate. Authorities say Friday that the items will require additional processing and analysis, and that could take several weeks or months.
Officials have said they couldn’t release details of their investigation. But they did confirm Friday that the search of the property in St. Joseph was connected to Jacob’s kidnapping.
The search warrants are not available. An order by Stearns County District Judge Vicki Landwehr says public release of the documents could hamper the ongoing investigation into Jacob’s disappearance.
The 11-year-old was abducted by a masked gunman in 1989 and hasn’t been seen since. There have been no arrests.
