Storm knocks down power lines in northwest

Power lines knocked down by Tuesday night’s storm led to some smoke and sparks at an Austin home, but no injuries.
The lines came down on a residence at 505 Ninth St. NW at around 11 p.m. According to a police report, sparks were seen on the roof and some smoke was smelled in and around the home.
Flames were never apparent, the report states.
The home’s occupants all got outside, and the Austin Fire Department and Austin Utilities were able to pull the lines from the residence.
