Terry Anderson

Terry L. Anderson of Pequot Lakes, Minn., passed away unexpectedly July 11, 2010 in St. Cloud, Minn.
He was born Sept. 28, 1946, in Quincy, Ill. He is the son of Bruce and Helen (Burford) Anderson.
Terry graduated from the University of Missouri and was a 37-year employee of Hormel Foods of Austin. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Elks of Austin and of Brainerd, Minn., and the American Fishing Club. Terry and Ruth would have celebrated 45 years of marriage in August.
Terry will be remembered as a person of caring and loving spirit, with a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. His passion for fishing was passed to all he met and he enjoyed a “first catch” with each of his grandchildren. He was an active trustee in his church and volunteered much of his time helping veterans and various Elks sponsored youth activities.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Pequot Lakes; daughter Traci (Mike) Huffman, of Iowa City, Iowa; sons, Craig (Karen) Anderson, of St. Cloud, Minn., and Jason (Stacy) Anderson, of Mankato, Minn.; grandchildren, Nathan (Vanessa) Huffman, of Los Angeles, Calif., Kendall and Drew Anderson, of St. Cloud, Morgan and Raegan Anderson, of Mankato; sisters, Peggy (Leland) Phillips, of Lewistown, Mo., and Colleen Anderson, of Quincy, Ill.; and brother, Bill (Shirley) Anderson, of Yuma, Ariz.; cousins, nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; infant brother, George Eric; infant daughter, Carrie Lucinda; great-niece, Ellen Kay Cary; aunts and uncles.
He donated his eyes to the Minnesota Eye Bank and his body to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He will be sadly missed by his family and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Grace United Methodist Church, 29286 State Highway 371 in Pequot Lakes, at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to Grace United Methodist Church in Pequot Lakes or to the donor’s choice.
