Betty Maxine Benson, 87

Betty Maxine Benson,  87, of Blooming Prairie, died at Milestone Memory Care in Faribault on Monday afternoon, Aug. 9, 2010.  She was born Dec. 7, 1922 to Verne Alvin and Beatrice Dolores (Waverin) Denny in Owatonna where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1940.   She married Richard Harold Benson on Dec. 23, 1946 in Owatonna.  They made their home in Owatonna until 2005 when they moved to Blooming Prairie.  Betty enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and bowling.  She moved to Milestone Memory Care in Faribault in April, 2010.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Benson of Blooming Prairie and one son, Curtis (Barbara) Benson of Rochester.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard Benson, Jr. in 1972 and a brother, Donald Denny.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 13, 2010 at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home Chapel.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service.  Interment is at Blooming Prairie Cemetery.  You may send condolences to www.worlein.com
