Larry Joseph O’Brien, 72, of Austin died Sunday morning, Aug. 15, 2010, at the Cenneidigh House in Austin. He was born March 11, 1938, the son of Timothy J and Anne C. (Boyenga) O’Brien in Austin. He was a lifelong resident of Austin and had retired from Cedar Valley Services. He was a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church. He loved animals, especially ducks, being out in nature and tending to his rose garden. He also enjoyed listening to Bing Crosby.

Survivors include his sister, Maureen (Darwin) Bawek of Austin; his brother, Michael O’Brien of Mukwonago, Wisconsin; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Timothy and Anne O’Brien and one brother, Patrick O’Brien.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010 at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Interment will follow the service in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 17th, 2010 and one hour prior to the service at the Worlein Funeral Home on Wednesday. Memorials are preferred to the family.
