A man convicted of one count of drug possession Friday in Mower County court will serve 48 months in a state correctional facility.
Jesse Dean Kranz, 26, of Austin, pleaded not guilty in April to three counts of felony drug possession — two with intent to sell.
Kranz was arrested in March, when law enforcement entered a house on the 800 block of Fourth Avenue Northeast.
Law enforcement seized 22 grams of meth, a scale and $614 cash in an upstairs bedroom of the home belonging to Kranz.
During the raid, law enforcement officials came across John Robert Frost, 45, who was found with 1.2 grams of meth, drug paraphernalia and a loaded handgun.
Kranz, along with Frost, was taken to jail and questioned.
Frost, who has two prior felony convictions on his record, admitted to possessing the meth found in his bedroom, as well as to owning the gun. However, he said Kranz was the one “doing business,” noting the larger amount of meth found in his room, the complaint states.
Kranz declined at the time to talk about the meth found in the home.
