The Pacelli girls tennis team dropped a pair of matches in Lake City in its season opener Monday.

The Shamrocks (0-2 overall) lost to Lake City and fell to Durand 6-1.

The only win for Pacelli came from Steph Kocer at number three singles when she beat McKenzie Anderson of Durand 6-0, 7-5.

“Steph did a great job to finish off her match against Durand,” Pacelli head coach Mark Henderson said. “We talked about her opponent fighting back in the second set and Steph just held it together to get the win.”

Pacelli has only nine players, and was forced to forfeit the number four singles match against both opponents.

The next matches for the Pacelli girls will be tomorrow in Albert Lea against the host school and Worthington with a 2:30 p.m. start.
