Arthur Arnold Moen, 82 of Austin, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at his home.

He was born Oct. 21, 1927 to Albert and Ella (Madson) Moen in Dodge County, Minnesota. After graduation from Blooming Prairie High School, Arthur joined the Navy on Oct. 24, 1945 in St. Paul. He advanced to Seaman First Class. After his honorable discharge on July 28, 1946 in California, he returned to live and work the family farm near Blooming Prairie. He worked at Hormel Foods for over thirty years. He married Sylvia (Spartz) Shultz on May 29, 1999 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield. They made their home in Austin. A member of American Legion and Westminster Presbyterian Church, Arthur also enjoyed watching the Twins and Vikings as well as westerns.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia of Austin; two daughters, Patricia Lujan of Prior Lake and Nancy Knutson of Austin; stepchildren, Michael (Tori Mroz) Shultz of Kansas City, Kansas and DeAnna Dahlgren (David Sutton) of Fort Collins, Colorado; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Ann; three brothers: Melvin, Benjamin and Clarence; six sisters: Ovina, Clara, Mathilda, Emma, Evelyn and Irene.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Andrew Lindahl officiating, soloist, Audrey Carroll and organist, Betty Lou Larson. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Friday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin. Interment is at Oakwood Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 91.
