Marlene Mary “Molly” Mortensen, 64 of Austin, died at Adams Healthcare Center Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010.

She was born Dec. 17, 1945 to Max B. and Mary (Jicha) Morgan in Austin. Shortly after Molly was born, the family moved to Lyle where Molly graduated from high school in 1964. She married James Farnsworth in 1967 in NV. They returned to Lyle in 1969 and moved to Austin in 1970. The couple had four children and were later divorced. Molly married David Mortensen on Sept. 21, 1974 in Mapleview. A certified nursing assistant, she worked for 20 years at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center and for a year and a half at Our House. A lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary, she served for two years as the Cancer Chairperson in Lyle, crocheting many projects for them, including a giant queen size flag donated to the Lyle Cancer Telethon. She enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, David of Austin; sons, Patrick (Julie) Farnsworth of Austin; Merwyn Farnsworth of Austin; Edward Potter of Windom; David Allen Mortenson, Jr. of Minneapolis; daughters: Mary (Kerry) Wolf of Buffalo, WY; Margaret (Branden) Aker of Austin; Tammy (Lenny) Potter of Windom; 20 grandchildren; two brothers: Myron (Ruth Ann) Morgan of Byron; Merwyn Morgan of Lyle; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jay and Nancy Jessen; nephew, nieces, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m, Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010 at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel with The Rev. Dr. Stephen DeFor officiating. Friends may call from 4-7:00 p.m., Friday and one hour prior to the service. Interment is at Oakwood Cemetery.
