Daily Herald, KSMQ to host mayoral, sheriff’s debates

The Austin Daily Herald and KSMQ-TV will be holding a debate for the sheriff’s and mayoral races on Oct. 25 at KSMQ-TV studios on the Riverland campus in Austin.
The mayor’s debate will begin at 5 p.m. with the sheriff’s portion beginning at 6:30 p.m. The debate will not be broadcast live but will play on KSMQ throughout the week. The debate will also be shown after the event at www.austindailyherald.com and at www.ksmq.org. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
Sheriff Terese Amazi, Mayor Tom Stiehm and mayoral candidate and current City Council member Marian Clennon will be in attendance. The Austin Daily Herald has not yet received confirmation that sheriff candidate Sgt. Jeff Ellis will be in attendance.

Oct 29 – City Council debate at Eagles Club, 12-1:15 p.m.
