What’s happening: Brickhouse Coffee Shop featuring Open Mic Night
Published 8:16 am Friday, October 8, 2010
It may be difficult to think about “playing” with the final few weekends of outdoor-working weather ahead, but there are many exciting events happening in and around Austin this weekend for all ages and budgets.
Whether you have a hankering for music, dancing, shopping, or dining at local church bazaars, this is your weekend to do it.
If you’re looking to take in a poetry reading or the sounds of local musicians, tonight’s Open Mic at the Brickhouse Coffee House could be the place to do it. For those interested in taking in a show at the orchestra, Sunday’s Austin Symphony Orchestra’s “Exotic Egypt” program will be held at 2 p.m. in Knowlton Auditorium.
It has been said it’s best to keep all things in moderation. In keeping with that line of thinking, Austin has the events this weekend to strike a balance between work and play.
