Georgia Phyllis Block, 96

Georgia Phyllis Block, 96, of Blooming Prairie died Christmas Day at the Prairie Manor Care Center.

Block was born Aug. 3, 1914, in Mankato to John and Mary (Wineberger) Ruhland. She married Clifford William Block on April 23, 1934, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her son, William (Bernadette); daughter, Linda (Carl) Shoden, five grandchildren, Mike (Wendy) Brandt, of Austin; Joel (Carla) Cecil, Austin; John Shoden, of Austin; Barry (Robin) Brooks, of Tallahassee, Fla.; Mike (Katie) Block, of Apple Valley, nine great grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Crane Community Chapel. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
