Donald A. Williams, 80, of Austin, died Friday, Jan. 21, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Albert Lea.

Donald was born May 17, 1930, in Austin, the son of Alfred and Hazel (Nelson) Williams. He graduated from Austin High School and served in the US Army. Donald was married to Alice Simonson on March 15, 1953, in Blooming Prairie. They resided in Austin where he was employed by Hormel Foods until his retirement.

Donald was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing and camping. He also enjoyed woodworking, growing tomatoes and feeding birds.

Donald is survived by his wife, Alice Williams of Austin; children, Duane and Mary Lynn Williams of Virginia, Minn., Diane and Denny Hruby, LeCenter, Minn., Debbie and Randy Miller of Austin; daughter-in-law, Judy Williams of Rochester; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren with another on the way; brother-in-law, Robert Hahn, Albert Lea; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dan Williams; parents; sisters, Luverne Stephens and Gwen Hahn; brothers, Gene Peterson and Bill Williams; brother-in-law, Jim Zrucky; sisters-in-law, Mary Squibb, Darlene Hahn and Jean Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church with the Reverend Brian Krueger officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and at the church for one hour before the service on Tuesday morning. The family prefers memorials to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or to the donor’s choice.
