Donald A. Yerhart, 80, of Lansing, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, at, his home.
Don was born April 11, 1930, in Waseca to Joseph and Helen (Hurt) Yerhot. On Feb. 12, 1955, he was united in marriage to Darlene L. Yanzer at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin.
Don was an employee of Hormel Foods for 36 years, a United States Veteran of service and a member of Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church in Brownsdale. He loved working on engines, farming and auctions. Don also had nicknames of “Buck” and “Scottie.”
Survivors include his wife: Darlene L. Yerhart, Lansing; children: Pamela (Duane) Reineke, New Richland, David Yerhart, Lansing, Paul Yerhart, Lansing, Steven Yerhart, Minneapolis, Angela Yerhart, Hayfield; six grandchildren: David “Butch” Yerhart, James Yerhart, Jeremy Yerhart, Teresa Yerhart, Krista Reineke, Alley Yerhart; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas Yerhart, Alishya Yerhart, Michael Bremer, Gage Bremer, Gavin Peterson.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Yerhot, Raymond Yerhot, Bernard Yerhot; sisters, Monica Yerhot, Pauline Gray.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church in Brownsdale with Father Dale Tupper officiating. There will be a 5:30 p.m. wake service on Monday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. and also one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in Lansing Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 91 and VFW Post 1216.
The casket bearers will be James Yerhart, Jeremy Yerhart, David “Butch” Yerhart, Randy Yerhot, Todd Yerhot, Bradley Yerhot.
