The Southland boys basketball team lost to Kingsland (7-6 overall) 78-72 in Adams Friday.
The Rebels (9-6 overall, 6-5 Three Rivers) tied the game up at 69 when Nick Schmitz hit a three with two minutes remaining, but their offense went downhill from that point.
“We had a couple of untimely turnovers at the end and that’s just the way the ball rolls sometimes,” Southland head coach Jon Thalberg said. “Both teams played hard and it was a good game.”
Alan May had 29 points to lead the Rebels.
Southland scoring: Alan May, 29; Mike Goergen, 16; Nick Schmitz, 12; Sam Noterman, 8; Decker Bendsten, 5; Chris Wolff, 2; free throws: 64 percent (18-for-28)
