Packer girls fall to Owatonna

The Austin girls basketball team lost at Owatonna 69-41 Friday.

The Packers (5-9 overall, 5-5 Big Nine) focused their defense on Owatonna center Trisha Benjamin, who they held to 11 points.

But the Huskies knocked down seven threes while shooting 47 percent from the arc and 50 percent from the field as Courtney Hayford led them with 18 points.

“They have an inside and outside game and they were both working tonight,” Austin head coach Gary Peterson said.
