An Austin woman was sentenced to 30 days in jail Monday in Mower County Court for violating her probation by testing positive for methamphetamine.

Corina Amy Sanborn, 30, was taken into custody Jan. 5 when a search warrant was executed at her residence on the 500 block of East Main Street in Brownsdale.

Police arrived to find four people in the house, including a 7-month-old baby. According to a criminal complaint, a small plastic bag containing residue was found in Sanborn’s room. The residue tested positive for meth.

Officers also found a glass pipe with residue that test positive for meth. After she was taken into custody, Sanborn was given a urine analysis and tested positive for the drug.

Sanborn told authorities her roommate had been smoking meth in the house and she had asked the roommate to leave the pipe so she could finish smoking it. Sanborn admitted to smoking what was left of the pipe.

As part of her probation violation sentencing, Sanborn must re-enroll in treatment when she is released from jail. She must also complete 40 hours of community work service in the 90 days after her release.

Sanborn was initially convicted of fifth-degree drug possession last June after a major drug bust.
