Cougars top Austin girls

The Austin girls basketball team scored just nine points in the second half of a 76-45 loss at Mankato East (14-9 overall, 12-4 Big Nine) Tuesday.
The Packers (8-13 overall, 7-9 Big Nine) allowed a late three to fall behind 40-36 at the break and they struggled early in the second half.
“I thought we were playing good in the first half and then things just kind of snow balled in the second half,” Austin head coach Gary Peterson said.
Austin shot just 20 percent from the field, while the Cougars hit 48 percent (28-for-58) of their shots and 50 percent (5-for-10) of their threes. Kelsey Mosher had 23 points to lead East.
