One local bar failed compliance checks performed by Austin police Friday night.
Out of nine bars tested, Torge’s Live was the only one to fail.
Police Chief Brian Krueger said if a bar or liquor store fails once within two years, it must pay a $500 fine. He said he isn’t sure if Torge’s has failed more than once in the last two years.
“This is a much better outcome than the last time we did compliance checks,” he said.
Bars that passed include: Bakery Lounge, B&J, Bobee Jo’s Bar, Hiawatha Bar, Margaritaville, Mickey’s Bar, Paradise Island and Tolly’s Timeout.
