Mary Alex Davis, 93, of Austin, died Monday, Feb. 21, at St. John’s Lutheran Home, Albert Lea.

Mary and her twin sister, Helen were born June 8, 1917, in Mason City, to Thomas and Condilo Reres, the first set of twins at the new Mercy Hospital.

She attended Mckinley School in Mason City. On March 3, 1936, she married Alex Davis in Mason City. Mary worked at Austin Public School for more than 40 years, worked at the Elks for many years and also helped out at the family business, Steve’s Pizza.

In her spare time, Mary loved to cook, bake, play cards, entertain at her home and spend time with her family — especially her grandchildren.

Mary was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church in Rochester.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Davis; daughter, Helen Davis; son, Thomas Davis; and twin sister, Helen Woonas

Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Angie Davis of Austin; grandchildren, Alex Davis of Austin, Mary (Dennis) Kloeck of Minneapolis, Nicole Davis of Pekin, Ill., Peter Davis of Rush City, Minn., Bill Davis, Minneapolis, MN; Jeff (Tracee) Davis, Houston, Tex.; great-grandchildren, Matthew Davis, Cole Kloeck, Dawson Kloeck, Riley Lyke, Will Lyke, Molly Davis, Henry Davis, Findlee Davis, Rylee Davis, Andrew Davis; sister, Esther Sheehy of Mason City; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration, 1311 Second Street SW, Mason City, with Father Joseph Mirowski officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Mason City. Visitation will be held at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary, Wednesday, Feb. 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church for one hour before the service Thursday morning.
