Austin schools rake in donations

There’s a new flute among other donations coming to Austin Public Schools.
The district school board accepted several donations during its meeting Monday, including several monetary donations and a flute for the district’s band programs.
The flute was donated by Kevin Anderson for low-income students who want to explore band.
Tim and Tracy Garry donated $350 to Neveln Elementary School which will go toward library books purchased in their son’s memory.
Lisa Schara and Wells Fargo Matching Gifts Program donated $140 to Neveln for classroom supplies.
The Austin Area Chamber of Commerce and the Freeborn-Mower Operation Round-Up donated $300 and $500 respectively to the district to be used for Ellis Middle School’s Eighth-Grade Career Fair.
