DuWayne Kraby, 75, died March 23, 2011, in The Villages, Fla.
Mr. Kraby was born April 14, 1935, in Winneshiek County, Iowa, to Arthur and Louise (Barth) Kraby. DuWayne married Elizabeth (Betty) Sukow on June 17, 1956, at St. Johns’s Lutheran Church in Austin.
After graduating from Austin High school in 1954, he worked for Armstrong Service and eventually ran his own Phillips 66 station in Robbinsdale, Minn. He worked for Douglas Aircraft of California, General Mills Research of Golden Balley, Minn., and returned to Austin as part owner of two Phillips 66 service stations. He was a firefighter for the City of Austin for 20 years and retired in 1989. He recently resided in The Villages, Fla.
DuWayne is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth (Betty) of The Villages; son, Brian McHenry of Florida; daughter, Diane Roehrs of St. Peters, Mo.; grandchildren, Rachel Kraby (Brendan) Brooks of Duluth, Rebecca (Darin) Zackow of Oconomowoc, Wis., Angela Roehrs of St. Charles, Mo., Bryan Roehrs of O’Fallon, Mo.; step-grandchildren, Nathan Heck of Beaver Dam, Wis., Christopher and Olivia Heck of McHenry, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Lois Anderson, Dorothy Stern and Clara Twedt of Austin and brother-in-law, Leo (Delores) Sukow of Albert Lea.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and three sisters.
Memorial services will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, The Villages, Fla., with inurnment in the Memorial Garden at the church. All Faiths Cremation Society is in charge of arrangements.
