The Paramount Theatre is jazzing it up Saturday night.
The Frank Vignola Quartet, featuring genre-bending musical heavyweight Frank Vignola, is coming to Austin.
“He is a world class guitarist,” said Scott Anderson, Paramount’s manager. “If you like guitar playing at all, you’re going to like this guy because he’s so darn good.”
Vignola is a master instrumentalist who’s played professionally for 32 years. He’s worked with, recorded with and been on tour with acts from Madonna to Les Paul and more. For the past 20 years, he’s taken his show on the road, performing in North America, Europe and everywhere in between.
Vignola and the band will perform classic hits from all sorts of genres, anything from Bach to Simon and Garfunkel, Gershwin to Sting. They’ll even take song requests from the audience.
“What we like to do is play classic melodies, songs that everyone knows,” Vignola said.
Vignola’s also composed his own “gypsy jazz” pieces, as well as taught hundreds of guitar courses and master classes across the nation.
The Frank Vignola Quartet will perform in Austin March 12 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults, $10 for students and can be purchased at the Paramount Theatre Box Office.
