Joan Glynn, 75

Mrs. Glynn, 75, of Rochester, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at her home.
Joan was born Dec. 28, 1935, in Cleveland, Minn., to Clair and Frances (Simonette) Thomas. She married Kyle “Pete” Glynn Oct. 26, 1957, in Cleveland. The couple lived in Janesville, Mankato, Austin, and have lived in Rochester since 1978.
Mrs. Glynn worked several part-time jobs, but especially enjoyed her housekeeping job for the priests at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rochester. Joan dedicated her life to being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church, and was also dedicated to her church.
Pete Glynn was the director of the Cronin House in Rochester, and retired in 1999.
Survivors include her two sons, James Glynn of Rochester and Daniel (Teri) Glynn of Grand Meadow; three daughters, Frances (Scott) Kunz of Richmond, Minn.; Cynthia (David) Greene of Grand Meadow and Peggy (Tom) Glynn Hinze of Cold Spring, Minn.; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Mary) Thomas of Rochester; four sisters, Pat (Harold) Hobday of St. Peter, Rita Minars of Le Center, Janet (Roger) Krenit of Mankato and Kathleen (Lenny) Tiede of Montgomery.
She was preceded in death by her parents; tow sons, Jeffery and Jerry Glynn; brothers, Jim and Jack Thomas; sisters, Mary Caughlin and Ruth Lieghton; brother-in-law, Cliff Glynn, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Art and Elayne O’Brien; mother-in-law Pearl Glynn and father-in-law John C. Glynn.
The funeral Mass for Joan Glynn will be 10:30am Thursday, March 3, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Rochester, with the Rev. Kevin Connolly officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be held in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home from 5 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011, and one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday.
