The Austin boys golf team had a solid showing at the five-team Northfield Invite Thursday.
The Packers, who took third, cut their double bogeys down by over half from their previous meet and they finished with a score of 326, which was 11 strokes better than their team score at Mayo Wednesday.
“We decided to shuffle some of the golfers spots for today and it seemed to have paid off,” Austin head coach Chris Gogolewski said. “We didn’t have a score higher than 84 which is excellent.”
Austin senior Scott Snyder led the way with a 78 and he told Goglolewski that the round may have been the pinnacle of his career.
“Scott hasn’t been all that please with his season’s rounds so far, so it was nice to see him have a great round and come in under 80,” Gogolewski said.
Austin scores: Scott Snyder, 78; Tony Baudler, 81; Alex Thorson, 83; Isaac Christianson, 84; Mark Thorson, 84; Tim Shaffer, 84
