Larry Harkrader, 59

Larry Harkrader, 59, passed away on Friday, April 22. Larry was a recent resident of Le Center, Minn.
Larry was born on Jan. 17, 1952, in Norfolk, Neb. A banker for 38 years, he worked in financial institutions in Nebraska, Wyoming and Minnesota and held various positions from loan officer to president. As a young man, Larry served in the army as a sergeant and fought aside his brother in the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he married his high school sweetheart and had two children. He was extremely devoted to his family and always practiced honesty and integrity in every stage of his life. Larry was also an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. His dedication to wildlife conservation drove him to purchase land in north central Nebraska, which he spent 40 years restoring to natural habitat and protecting wildlife.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela (Kohl) and son, Jason, both of Le Center; daughter, Miranda (Haferman), and son-in-law, Marty of Lincoln, Neb.; parents, Jerry Sr. and Mary Harkrader of Sun City, Ariz.; brother, Jerry Jr. and sister-in-law, Shelly, of Laramie, Wyoming; sister, Jane (Douglass) and brother-in-law, Pat of Lincoln, Neb.; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on April 30, at North Mankato Mortuary – Northview 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Donations made will be donated in his name to the American Diabetes Association and Disabled American Veterans.
