Marian Arletta (Arens) Raker, 95, of Austin, died Thursday, April 7, 2011, at the Austin Medical Center.

Marian was born Sept. 4, 1915, in Austin to Joseph and Mary (Mayer) Arens. She graduated from Austin High School. On June 17, 1940, she married Louis Raker at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2005. Marian was a homemaker and a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, dancing and playing the organ.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Julie) Raker of Austin; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; two great-grandchildren; sister, Jeannette Mittag of Austin.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy; son, David; five brothers; six sisters.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Dale Tupper officiating. There will be a 4 p.m. CCW rosary and a 6 p.m. wake service on Tuesday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. and also from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The honorary casket bearer will be Thomas Neisen. The casket bearers will be Ryan Raker, Matt Raker, Don McKenzie, Brian Mittag, Brian Neisen, Allison Stoltz.
