Minn. interstate reopened after tanker catches fire

NEW BRIGHTON, Minn. (AP) — Westbound Interstate 694 was closed for most of rush hour Thursday morning after a tanker truck carrying fuel caught fire in New Brighton.
The interstate’s westbound lanes were blocked from Interstate 35W to Highway 10 until firefighters put out the fire at around 8 a.m.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the tanker was carrying 7,500 gallons of gasoline and 1,000 gallons of diesel.
Drivers were asked to detour to northbound Interstate 35W to County Road 96, County Road 96 to southbound Interstate 35W to westbound I-694.
