The Austin girls golf team hasn’t been in action for a while but have too many problems as the Packers took second at the Faribault Triangular Thursday.
Austin’s team score of 415 was 26 strokes better than its score at its most previous meet. Mankato West was first with a 399.
“It was cold, wet and windy but the girls battled it out,” Austin head coach Erik LaRock said. “We played really well and Mankato West is the team to beat in the Big Nine. It was pretty cool to be within 16 strokes of them.”
Austin sophomore Lauren Stasi had the second-best score at the meet with a 95.
Austin scoring: Lauren Stasi, 95; Shannon Stutzman, 105; Steph Justice, 107; Nicole Lipari, 108
