A 41-year-old Austin man faces five stalking charges and four charges for interfering with privacy after allegedly peeping in people’s windows early Wednesday morning.

Rodney Wayne Christenson was charged Friday in Mower County Court. Three of the charges are felonies — including one count of interfering with the privacy of a minor — and the rest are gross misdemeanors.

The incident in question happened Wednesday morning around 6 a.m. when police received a call indicating that a man was looking in windows near the 600 block of 12th Avenue SW. When officers arrived, they saw a car matching the caller’s description leaving the area.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said Christenson was pulled over in the 1300 block of Sixth Street SW. His blood alcohol content was over the legal limit. When officers asked if he had a camera on him, he said no. However, a camera containing videos of people changing clothes and exercising was found in his jacket pocket, Krueger said.

Christenson also faces two gross misdemeanor DWI charges. He is scheduled to enter his plea for all 11 charges on April 28.
