The next organizational meeting for The Ride Across Minnesota (TRAM) bike ride is right around the corner.
The ride, which fights Multiple Sclerosis, begins July 24 in Rochester and weaves its way through Austin and back to Rochester. When the riders hit Austin on July 26, there may be as many as 1,000 of them. So Austin needs volunteers and businesses to step up and facilitate all the people.
Some of the workers needed include vendors, entertainers, luggage handlers, sanitation workers, medical assistants, police escorts and more.
Cheryl Corey, executive director of Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau, has said this is a great opportunity for Austin to showcase its offerings and keep people coming back to Austin.
Another informational meeting will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Mower County Senior Center.
