Catherine Marie Lorentzen, 82, of Carlton, passed away on May 7, 2011, in St. Lukes Hospital, Duluth. She was born on Feb. 5, 1929, in Hayward to Sam and Agnes (Houghton) Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin; her parents; sister, Marguerite Nelson; and brother, H.C. Nelson.

Catherine is survived by her children: Sandra K. (Steven) DeZeler, Gail (Rick) Soderlund, Peggy (Lenny) Ahola and Brian and Mary (Randy) Conrad; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings: Faith Kirsch, Dora (Paul) Levine and Tom (Pat) Nelson; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends and relatives for a time of remembrance from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday in the Handevidt Funeral Home, 900 Washington Ave., Cloquet. Lunch will be provided.
