The grills could be cooking again soon at a former supper club.
The former Lansing Corners property will be up for auction at 10 a.m. June 11. Jensen Real Estate & Auction will run the sale for owner Tom Miller.
An open house will be held at the property 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. June 1. Potential buyers must put $7,500 down the day of the sale, and buyers will pay a 5 percent buyer’s premium.
Uncertainty has surrounded the property since Ron and Karen Valentine closed the restaurant in 2008. About $36,837 in back taxes are owed on the property, plus more than $8,900 in interest and penalties.
Since the closure, the building’s assessed value has decreased by about $140,000 from $340,800 in 2009 to $200,600. Miller said the property has been listed at around $160,000.
“It’s not my opinion that I think it’s worth less,” Miller said previously. “It’s the assessor.”
