Doug MacIntosh, 61

Doug “Mac” MacIntosh, 61, of Lansing, Minn., died at his home on Tuesday, May 10, 2011.

Doug was born Sept. 10, 1949, in Austin, to Claude and Phyllis (Fisher) MacIntosh. He graduated from Austin High School and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. After the Navy, he returned to Minnesota and graduated from Mankato State University. He married Karen Cole on Sept. 3, 1977, in Dexter, Minn. Doug worked as a security counselor at the State Regional Hospital in St. Peter, Minn. He enjoyed reading, woodworking and landscaping. He also enjoyed retirement, being with his family and friends, his cat – E.T., and he loved to discuss world issues.

Doug is survived by his wife Karen MacIntosh of Lansing; children, Ian MacIntosh of Montana, Nicholas MacIntosh of Oregon, Rebecca (Abram) Menchaca of Austin; grandchildren, Mariah Menchaca and Abram Menchaca Jr.; brother, Sandy (Karen) MacIntosh of Owatonna, Minn.; sister, Bonnie MacIntosh of Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will have a private ceremony at a later date. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
