Gloria J. Oleson, 65, of Port Charlotte, formerly of Austin, passed away May 2, 2011. She was born March 4, 1946, in Minneapolis to Harm and Bertha (Akkerman) Huisinga. Gloria worked as a certified nursing assistant and spent most of her life taking care of her family, friends and proud grandmother. She was a former member of Faith Evangelical Free Church, Austin. Gloria enjoyed working in her garden and golfing with her husband.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 45 years, Emory; sons, Jay Oleson and daughter-in-law, Tammy and Justin Oleson; brother, Marlin Huisinga; grandchildren, Cody, Austin, Hunter, Maverick, Wyatt, Timothy, Shana and James; great-grandson, Mason and special friends “sisters”, Sandy, LuAnn and Trissy.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday, May 6, at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services.
